These Celebrities Are Crazy About NFTs

These Celebrities Are Crazy About NFTs!

When a new hype develops, we all want to be the first. Who wouldn’t want to be at the beginning of a revolution or exercise some kind of influence role? Do you remember the view and interest you got when you were one of the first to own a mobile?

What is very common today, many of us all remember the beginning of that era, with the exception of the millennials. With the very rapid development of these non-fungible tokens, we all want to be there too and this is no different for famous and influential people.

Curious which celebrities are already trading NFTs? Find out here which celebrity has made which NFT investments.

What are NFTs

By now we have heard the term non-fungible tokens, better known as NFTs. Both on various crypto forums and in the mainstream media know more and more about these unique digital assets and how they are conquering the world. It is therefore not entirely surprising that news items discuss these NFTs on their daily level.

In short, an NFT is a unique digital asset that is recorded on the blockchain. Why is this so interesting? Such an NFT is a non-exchangeable and irreplaceable certificate of ownership. Unlike the crypto that you hold in your wallet, an NFT is really owned by you as a person and this right of ownership is established through smart contracts. Elon Musk

How else can we start than with the man who makes the entire crypto industry eat from the palm of his hand and who can raise Bitcoin like no other with a simple tweet. Elon Musk loves controversy and uses his fame and reach to experiment with these new technological developments. He recently announced that he and his company Tesla have invested as much as $1.5 billion in Bitcoin (BTC). But it doesn’t stop there, NFTs are no longer unfamiliar territory for Musk.

On March 15, 2021, Elon Musk launched a tweet featuring an animated video, a GIF captioned, “I’m selling this song about NFTs as an NFT.” In this 2 minute cutscene you will see a gold shiny trophy with words such as ‘HODL’ and ‘NFT’ on top of the trophy. Here he wants to make a clear statement about NFTs.

The track you hear in the background is a techno beat with the simple lyric “NFT for your vanity, computers never sleep, it’s verified, it’s guaranteed”. Which simply points to the new hype that is developing very quickly. The highest bid was made for $1.1 million. Right, for a tweet! Beeple, the artist who previously sold an NFT for a record $69 million, was interested and made a generous offer. Elon Musk’s reaction? For 420 million DOGE is his work, with which he manages to manipulate the market and the price of Doge.

Grimes

Grimes is Elon Musk’s eccentric partner and they certainly found each other in the controversy they love to seek out. She recently said that she is ready to die on Mars if Elon Musk succeeds in making an entire society on Mars with his company SpaceX. They are a couple who often raise questions in others through their eccentric plans and controversial statements. NFTs aren’t unfamiliar territory for the Canadian electro-pop star either. She has already sold about $6 million worth of digital artwork.

She sold a series of 10 pieces, which were offered on the platform of Nifty Gateway in February of 2021. The most expensive piece was a video called ‘Death of the Old‘ with a cross, a sword, and flying angels on their way to the light. . Of course with one of her own songs in the background. This work was sold digitally for no less than $389,000.

Shawn Mendes

The singer is not only known for his musical career and his señiorita, but the Canadian singer-songwriter also shows great interest in the world of NFTs. In fact, he works with Genies, a company that creates digital avatars and trades on the OpenSea. This is the largest marketplace for NFTs. Genies previously collaborated with celebrities such as Rihanna and Justin Bieber to create their avatars for online guest appearances.

It is mainly his manager who takes the lead in collaborating with Genies for the creation of these avatars which are sold as NFT. It is also possible to sell previously created avatars as NFT.

Steve Aoki

Musician Steve Aoki already has a net worth of $120 million, but it doesn’t stop there. With the creation of NFTs, this value is increasing very quickly. He already has a nice return on his unique digital assets. His ‘Dream Catcher’ collection, a series made of 11 individual items, was a collaboration between Aoki and 3D illustrator Antoni Tudisco. It was put up for sale on the Nifty Gateway platform. Part of the collection, ‘Hairy’, sold for a handsome $888,888,888, making it the website’s most expensive sale to date for an NFT.

Lindsey Lohan

The American actress and singer Lindsey Lohan also sees a future in NFTs. Where other investors see only financial gain, Lohan also sees the use of NFTs as a means to a greater end. She uses this hype to enable other actors and musicians to better protect their own artistic rights. In this way, they themselves get the financial appreciation they deserve when creating their art. We see that musicians have minimal income streaming their music on major platforms.

Lohan himself launched an NFT on March 27 via the FansForever. She uses this platform as an active way to interact with her fans. She wants to donate a portion of the proceeds to Save The Children and to small artists who are unable to break through due to lack of fame. The latest offer on its NFT was a generous 1 million TRON, which is equivalent to 135,000 dollars at the time of writing.

FansForever

FAN is a decentralized social marketplace that connects creators with their fans through NFTs. Traditionally, this connection between maker and fan is based on merchandise, such as shirts or ticket sales for special events or even a meet-and-greet. With NFT, they want to digitize the experience and fund digital assets in the process.

The platform has announced that more and more celebrities are joining the platform. Tyga, Ne-Yo, Soulja Boy, and more than 30 other musicians have also presented themselves at FansForever. They mention that they will announce at least 1 new top talent per week.

Paris Hilton

Like Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton also sees NFTs as the economy of the future. In the past, Paris has portrayed herself as the naive blonde who would rather be lazy than tired, yet this entrepreneur knows how to surprise everyone with her work ethic and personality. Ever since the arrival of NFT, she has been showing her true nature as an entrepreneur and delving into this trend through Q&As she does on her website.

She therefore explicitly states that we currently live in the ‘Golden age of the Creator’, where artists are finally given the place and attention they deserve. As a successful DJ, she understands better than anyone the need for creators to be heard and seen through such a platform. These NFTs help creators and artists increase the value of their work and share it with their fans in real-time. In addition to sales, they also receive royalties for secondary sales. Paris itself plans to become even bigger and more influential with NFT by innovating, investing, and most importantly collecting.

In August of 2020, she already sold a drawing she made of her cat Munchkin. The digital artwork was auctioned for $17,000 by an unknown buyer trading under the pseudonym ‘Adirolls’.

Azealia Banks

The advantage of NFT is the freedom that everyone has in creating this unique digital asset. Rapper Azaelia Banks has her own approach to these NFTs. Where everyone uses the OnlyFans platform for explicit content, Banks sells a sex tape as NFT. The audio tape lasts 24 minutes and can be heard with her fiancé Ryder Ripps, a conceptual artist. The eccentric NFT was sold to artist Rulton Fyer for $17,240.

This is an example of the artistic freedom that NFTs bring. Where celebrities like Paris Hilton or Lindsey Lohan use it as a way to connect with their fans and strive for greater financial support for their own work, this form of NFT for Azealia is merely an entertainment issue with a very special angle.

Kings of Leon

The American rock band Kings of Leon is one of the newest celebrities to join the hype of NFT. They released their latest album, When You See Yourself, as an NFT in March 2021. The album is of course available to everyone in traditional formats, but in addition, no fewer than six NFT formats are sold in three variants. Each NFT sells for $50, with benefits such as animated album covers, digital downloads, and concert tickets. These NFTs are sold through the ticket platform YellowHeart.

Mark Cuban – Shark Tank

The American billionaire and investor known for Shark Tank is selling one of his motivational quotes as a non-fungible token (NFT) for $1700 worth of crypto. The NFT is nothing more than an image with his own quote: “Nobody ever changed the world by doing what everyone else was doing – Mark Cuban”

He himself charges 15% in royalties on secondary sales, this of course generates an extra cash flow for him in the future. This cash flow is minimal, especially for an investor who owns millions, but this sale is still interesting because more and more investors are showing an interest in the digital art of NFT.

Future of

Platforms such as OpenSea are seeing an exponential increase in the number of NFTs offered on the platform, indicating an ongoing trend. However, the future will show to what extent this trend will continue. These NFTs can also provide integration into the world of DeFi, for example, unique avatars that can be sold and used on game platforms or new trends from Polkamons.

Due to the involvement of famous people, we see the development of NFT mainly in the field of royalties so that artists and musicians get more financial influx for their creations. Only a small part of the proceeds of a work of art goes to the artist or musician himself. By using NFT on blockchain technology, artists can better control their own creation and eliminate unnecessary costs from intermediaries.

Conclusion

Beeple reportedly never sold a work of art for more than 100 dollars offline before he became world news with the sale of his NFT for a whopping $69 million. As more success stories come out of monster sales, more and more people and also famous people are interested in taking advantage of this new hype. While for many this is a way to express themselves artistically and hopefully also earn a lot of money from this, we also surprisingly see that celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan also see an underlying purpose of this hype.

FansForever’s platform has announced that it will bind even more celebrities to their platform in the future. We are therefore curious which celebrities will still use NFTs. Stay tuned!
